Oktoberfest Free Promo (29th -31st October 2012)

Oktoberfest Free Promo

To anyone that wants to read my novel but hasn’t got around to buying it yet, I just want to give you a heads up and say that between 29th – 31st October, Forgotten will be free. Please put it in your diaries and spread the word!

But, rather than just talk about my novel, I am going to do something a little different in this post because I would like to pay it forward and tell you about several other authors that have said that they are putting one of their books free as well. So, check out these books between Monday – Wednesday and grab any (or all) that you’re interested in.

Since this is my blog, I’m up first followed by the others that I know about:

Forgotten (In The Shadows, Book One) By Catherine Gardiner (4*Star Rating)

Wings of Shadow (The Underground Trilogy) By Anna Kyss (4.6* Star Rating)

Dollhouse (The Dollhouse Trilogy) By Anya Allyn  (4.5* Star Rating)

The Medium (Emily Chambers Spirit Medium Trilogy #1) By C.J. Archer (4.4* Star Rating)

No Shelter (#1) A Post-Apocalyptic Love Story (No Shelter Trilogy) By T.S. Welti (4.2* Star Rating)

Breathless: Book One of the Jason and Azazel Trilogy By V. J. Chambers (4* Star Rating)

I hope that you enjoy any of the above books you decide to download. Other than my own, which will be free on all Amazon Kindle Stores, I can’t guarantee the others that I have listed will be. I do apologize for any inconvenience caused in advance.

This week has had a couple of things happen that I think is great news, especially for authors and readers that use Kindle.

First up is the news that now the Japanese Amazon has its own Kindle Store. You can find my book here and it is currently priced at ¥100. Welcome to the Kindle family, Japan!

The second bit of news is that now, if you are a Prime member, you can borrow many titles (including mine) for a month for free if you’re in the UK, Germany or France. The benefit of Prime has been available in the US for a long time, but I think it’s marvelous that it’s being rolled out to other countries now.

Happy Reading and have a safe and joyful Halloween!

September Sale Stats

It’s the second of the month which means that is is sale stats time. I thought that August was bad when I sold 25 copies but I can now say that September is my worst month so far. I’ve read on forums that sales should increase month on month but, in my case, the reverse is true. Is my little book that bad? Why can’t it find traction? I know people like it and are waiting patiently for “Masquerade” which will be the second book in the ITS series. So, blogland, what am I doing wrong? Are vampires & werewolves really hated and I just haven’t noticed?

I have faith in “Forgotten” and I believe it to be a good book (partly because of the positive reception I’ve received from some of the readers). I am so grateful to everyone that has so far bought it or had kind things to say, but when I look at my sales I sometimes wish that more people would give it a chance. Thank you to everyone that did!

Anyway, before I let too many negative thoughts creep in, it’s time to look at the numbers:

Amazon – 6
Amazon UK – 4

Total – 10

I also had a free promo on the 6th September and here are the results for that:

US – 206
UK – 76
DE – 7
IT – 1

Total – 290

As mentioned before, the amazing Flurries of Words & the-cheap.netare promoting Forgotten for the first week of October, so I hope that it will help get my novel noticed a bit more. Even if you already own my book I really would love it if you’d check out both websites as they’re fabulous for discovering indie authors like me.

*Blatant promo ahead*

FORGOTTEN is only 99c / 77p / 0.86€

Forgotten is a YA paranormal that revolves around two sisters. It has action, mystery, drama, vampires, werewolves, & even a cute fluffy bunny. What more could you ask for?

If you liked Fear Street or Point Horror  you’ll love this!

*End of blatant promo*

Finally, I want to end this post by wishing everyone a safe and happy October. It’s my birthday soon so I am heading off to go celebrate it. Here’s a slice of chocolate birthday cake so you can (virtually) celebrate with me!

Take care everyone!

Ebook price change & Shelfari

I had to change my planned post that I wanted to do on Thursday. That post will turn up but I am unsure when that will be, so, instead I am going to be talking about ebook prices and Shelfari.

When I say I am going to talk about ebook prices, I am actually referring to what I am pricing my books. On the 7th June, I uploaded my book and I priced it $3.99 or £2.79 (it was a little more due to tax) and I kept that price for two weeks. I know that two weeks isn’t really enough time to judge whether that price point was too high or not, but after my successful free promo through Select on the 18th June I decided to lower the price of my novel. The new price is as follows:

Amazon US – 99c ($1.21 if you live outside of the US)
Amazon UK – 77p
Amazon DE – €0.89
Amazon ES – €0.89
Amazon FR – €0.89
Amazon IT – €0.89

I will reassess this price point at the beginning of July but for the next week my book will be at this “sale” price. So grab a bargain while you can. 🙂
